I’m a qualified, experienced piano teacher with excellent ABRSM results at all levels. I sit on the Manchester Committee for the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA). I organise informal concerts to allow pupils to gain experience in performing.
Learn through Experience
Throughout the years, I have given recitals in several venues, including Chester Cathedral and the Bowdon Rooms. Many of my pupils have earned distinctions in their exams and in music festivals. I have been teaching piano and accordion since 1989 and have taught many adult pupils. I have also taught many people to play the organ to a standard suitable for reciting hymns and music within church services.
A Practised Player
I undertook a four-year course at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where I studied the Art of Teaching, Theory, Acoustics, History of Music, and Piano Performance. I also achieved the highest marks in the UK, in 1979, for Grade 8 Piano and won the Sheila Mossman Memorial Award. I studied piano and cello at St. Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh, and at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
In addition to teaching piano and accordion, I am also available to play piano, accordion, and the organ. If you’re planning a concert, ceremony, or event, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me for more information.
